Mail Catcher enhances Windows 2000 SMTP service either when use as standalone
or in conjunction with Exchange 5.5/2000 by redirecting all misaddressed
external emails to a domain specific mailbox without generating an NDR to the
sender.
Mail Catcher register itself as an event on the SMTP service which is use to
send and receive external email. When the SMTP service receive an inbound
message it trigger Mail Catcher which process the email recipient list and
validate it against all email addresses defined in Active Directory. If an
incoming email addresses doesn’t validate against Active Directory, it’s
automatically replaced it by the emails addresses defined for this domain.
Mail Catcher can be install on any or all available SMTP instances. For each
instance, it can be configured with an unlimited number of rules. Each rule
consisting of a series of domain for which this rule is valid, and their
corresponding catchall email address.

Requirements
Mail Catcher requires Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 1 to work and
either IIS 5.0 SMTP service, or Exchange 2000, or AD enabled Exchange 5.5 with
IIS 5.0 SMTP service.
If you want to use Mail Catcher with AD enabled Exchange 5.5, Mail Catcher and
the IIS 5.0 SMTP service can be installed on an other system.
